Iranian animation ‘The Rotation’ to vie at Taos Shortz Film Festival

Iranian short animation ‘The Rotation’ is to compete at the 2021 Taos Shortz Film Festival in the US.

Iranian short animation ‘The Rotation’ has been selected to compete at the 15th edition of the Taos Shortz Film Festival in the US.

Directed and produced by Hazhir Asadi, the 7-minute animation shows two tribes that engage in a tug-of-war to possess the sun and moon.

Neither side can defeat the other. Their conflict wreaks havoc on the earth’s climate.

An eventual ceasefire brings temporary stability and harmony until unexpected events renew the cycle of conflict and destruction.

It is a film about the futility of war and the folly of human efforts to dominate nature.

The short animation has so far gone on screen at a number of global events, including the Animasyros Festival in Greece and the Girona Film Festival in Spain.

According to the Taos Shortz Film Festival’s website, “After a long uncertain COVID year, Taos Shortz Film Fest, the longest continually running film festival in New Mexico returns with a whole new selection of Global Short Films”.

The 15th edition of the event will be held on March 19-21, 2021.
